Tracing how Canada frames artificial intelligence.
I am a doctoral researcher in political science at Université Laval, working under the supervision of Thierry Giasson. My research uses computational text analysis to map how artificial intelligence has been framed in Canadian political documents — from the 2017 Pan-Canadian AI Strategy to the national strategies of 2026.
Political science, with a computational toolbox.
Trained in sociology (Aix-Marseille University) and political science (Sciences Po Aix), I now study the political construction of AI in Canada. Before the doctorate, I worked in communications, public relations and research assistantships on both sides of the Atlantic — experience that shapes how I think about political messaging, media framing and public institutions.
Which frames?
The thematic dimensions mobilised around AI — economy, ethics, security, sovereignty — across eight years of federal discourse.
Which messengers?
The actors who carry and legitimise each framing in the public arena: researchers, civil servants, firms, civil society, parties.
Which trajectory?
How dominant framings shift over time — measured quantitatively from 2017 to 2026 with supervised classification.
What I am working on.
Framing AI in Canadian political documents, 2017–2026
Computational framing analysis of the Canadian federal corpus — Hansard, strategic documents, consultations, speeches and advisory reports — with supervised classification (BERT / CamemBERT). Supervised by Thierry Giasson, Université Laval.
Full project →“That’s kino anon” — gamified reading charts on 4chan’s /lit/
A communication-research study of the “charts” on 4chan’s Literature board as gamified devices that frame and diffuse literary radicalism inside an anonymous counter-public. Corpus of 262 charts; four gamified mechanics and three framing structures.
Full project →The Informational Diet of /pol/ — what sources does 4chan’s political board cite?
A computational audit of the news sources posted on 4chan’s /pol/ board: it extracts every external URL, classifies each source into five media categories, and cross-tabulates by thread topic — a fully local, reproducible pipeline.
Full project →Libertarianism in the age of platforms
A qualitative, comparative study of two libertarian YouTubers — Grand Angle and Dave Smith — and how they build visibility and credibility through formats, platform devices, discourse and self-presentation. Supervised by Sandrine Roginsky.
Full project →A question or a research collaboration?
I am happy to discuss framing analysis, computational methods for political texts, or AI policy in Canada.
